General:
STDs caused by bacteria, such as chlamydia, gonorrhea, mycoplasma and syphilis, are relatively easy to treat. Usually a course of antibiotics is sufficient. Viral STDs, such as genital warts (HPV), hepatitis B, herpes and HIV are much more difficult to treat. There is a different approach for each. The course is also unpredictable and depends on the person. Sometimes the treatment has to be continued for a long time, sometimes even for life.
Parasitic STDs such as scabies, trichomonas, and pubic lice are easy to treat. They are caused by a parasite. Medication is always prescribed for this.
