  • Open the buffer bottle. Pour the liquid into the Reaction Cup.
  • Use the dropper to mix the urine and buffer 10 times clockwise.
  • Remove the test cassette from the packaging.
  • Open the bottom of the cassette cap. You can now see each test strip.
  • Place the bottom of the test cassette carefully into the Reaction Cup and ensure that each strip is submerged in the buffer.
  • The reaction fluid moves across the test strip, flowing from the T-line to the C-line.
  • Read the test result after 10–15 minutes.

HIV & Syphilis test

  1. Remove the outer packaging and place the test cassette on a flat surface with the sample window facing up.
  2. Use the provided lancet to obtain a few drops of finger blood.
  3. Use the pipette to draw up 3 drops of blood (approx. 80–100 µl) and apply it vertically into the sample opening of the cassette. Avoid air bubbles.
  4. Add 1 drop of the reagent into the designated opening.
  5. Read the result after 10–15 minutes.

Symptoms

Common symptoms of STDs
If you use the 10-in-1 STD test to screen for Chlamydia, Gonorrhea, Trichomonas, Mycoplasma (MH), Candida, Ureaplasma, Mycoplasma (MG), Gardnerella, Syphilis and HIV, it is crucial to be aware of the common symptoms of these infections. Here is a brief overview of what to look out for:

  • Chlamydia: Abnormal discharge, painful urination, pain during intercourse, testicular pain.
  • Gonorrhea: Increased genital discharge, burning sensation when urinating, genital pain, sore throat.
  • Trichomonas: Itching or burning sensation in the genitals, unusual discharge, discomfort during intercourse.
  • Mycoplasma Genitalium (MG): Often asymptomatic, may cause urethritis in men, discharge, and pelvic pain.
  • Mycoplasma Hominis (MH): Often asymptomatic, associated with pelvic inflammatory disease, postpartum fever.
  • Candida (Yeast infection): Itching, thick white discharge, redness and swelling of the vagina and vulva.
  • Ureaplasma: Often asymptomatic, may cause urethritis, cervicitis, and pelvic inflammatory disease.
  • Gardnerella (bacterial vaginosis): Fishy-smelling vaginal discharge, vaginal itching, burning sensation when urinating.
  • HIV: May cause flu-like symptoms such as fever, muscle aches, headache, and swollen lymph nodes.
  • Syphilis: Often small, firm, and painless sore at the site of infection (penis, vagina, anus, mouth).

It is important to remember that many of these infections can occur without noticeable symptoms. That is why regular testing with the 10-in-1 STD test is important for early detection and treatment.

When should I test?

Of course, you want clarity quickly. But there is what is called a window phase. The window/incubation phase (or window period) of an STD is the time between the moment of infection and the moment a test can actually detect the infection. For a reliable result, it is advised not to test too early.

We provide the test in two parts.
Part 1: Blood test (for HIV and Syphilis)
Part 2: Urine test (for all other STDs).

This allows you to test at two different times. For the most reliable result, it is best to test after 4 weeks.

For the most common STDs chlamydia and gonorrhea, we offer a chlamydia and gonorrhea rapid test that you can use after 14 days. If you don’t want to wait 4 weeks, we recommend ordering this test as well.

Infection Recommended test time Remarks
Chlamydia At least 2 weeks after exposure If negative but still concerned: retest after 3 months
Gonorrhea 2 weeks after exposure Test earlier if symptoms occur
Trichomoniasis From 1 week Incubation period 5–28 days
Mycoplasma genitalium 2–4 weeks
Candida Immediately if symptoms appear
Ureaplasma No fixed incubation period Test if symptoms occur or if partner is positive
Mycoplasma hominis No fixed incubation period Test if symptoms or indication
Gardnerella If symptoms occur
Syphilis 4 weeks after risk Repeat if tested earlier
HIV At least 22 days Window phase 3 months for certainty

How reliable is the test

Looking at sensitivity and specificity, the reliability values of the rapid test are very high.

The sensitivity of a medical test is the percentage of correctly positive results among infected individuals. The specificity of a test is the percentage of correctly negative results among non-infected individuals.
HIV Syphilis Chlamydia Gonorrhea Trichomonas
Sensitivity 99.5 - 100% 93.2 - 100% 87% 88% 100%
Specificity 99.5 - 99.8% 98.3 - 100% 93% 90% 100%
Mycoplasma genitalium Mycoplasma hominis Candida Ureaplasma Gardnerella
Sensitivity 100% 93.84% 95.1% 92.3% 97.1%
Specificity 87% 96.50% 100% 95.5% 100%

What does the result mean?

The test shows the presence of antibodies related to STDs.

Negative result

No indication of recent infection. Consider retesting if symptoms or risks occur.

Positive result

Indication of an active or past infection. Consult a doctor.

Speed of the result

To be read at home within 10–15 minutes.
